To the editor:

The March 6 editorial, "Israel's Choice," asks the wrong question to the wrong party.

As long as the Palestinian Arabs continue to insist on conflict, regardless of the size of Israel's bribe, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, like his predecessors, has no alternative to making clear his desire for peace while Israel does the best it can in the absence of peace.

The real question is: When will the leaders of the Palestinian Arabs begin to put the welfare of their own people ahead of their desire to destroy Israel and finally accept peace with Israel instead of a working towards peace without Israel?

Sincerely,
Alan Stein

The Comedian: United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

Speaking to a reporter at the United Nations headquarters, Ban Ki-moon, apparently with a straight face, said: "I don't think there is discrimination against Israel at the United Nations."
