Re Roger Cohen's misleadingly titled op-ed, "The Community of Expulsion," his concern about Jews avoiding self-scrutiny is unwarranted. There is probably no group on this planet as obsessed with self-scrutiny as the Jewish people and no country as obsessed with self-scrutiny as Israel.
As Cohen said, neither the Israelis nor the Palestinian Arabs are going away. The Israelis have long since recognized that; the conflict will end - and will only end - when the Palestinian Arabs finally recognize their genocidal war against the Jewish state will not succeed and reconcile themselves to living side-by-side in peace with Israel.
