To the editor:

Iyar Abu Gharqoud, author of the op-ed "FIFA Should Give Israel the Red Card," and Jibril Rajoub, head of the Palestinian Authority Olympic Committee and the man badgering FIFA about suspending Israel, are clearly unimpressed by the adage about people in glass houses throwing stones.

Rajoub is a lifelong terrorist and as head of the PA's "Preventive Security Force" was frequently accused, with apparent justification, of torture of prisoners and political opponents. He looks at sports as just one more weapon in the genocidal campaign against Israel. Under his auspices, a 2010 soccer tournament was called "The Prince of Martyrs Khalil al-Wazir 16th Football Tournament." Among Al-Wazir's heroic acts the murder of 38 civilians, including 13 children, in the bus hijacking known as the 1978 Coastal Road Massacre.

At a press conference in 2012, Rajoub said "Next time, we are prepared to bring the Executive Committee in helicopters…so they will see no Jews, no Satans and no Zionist sons of bitches."

There is an organization that should be given the "Red Card" by FIFA: the Palestinian Authority.

Sincerely,

Alan Stein
