PRIMER stands for Promoting Responsibility in Middle East Reporting. PRIMER-Connecticut does just that in Connecticut. I'm currently its president. If you're interested in keeping the media honest, contact me about joining the PRIMER Email Response Team.

Over 6000 delegates (the largest attendance ever) from every state in the U.S., including 1200 students from over 300 campuses in all 50 states, more than a hundred student government presidents and dozens of foreign countries attended the conference. Almost all the senators and nearly half the congressmen and women attending the Monday night banquet and hundreds of lobbying appointments were made for Tuesday on Capitol Hill.
The Connecticut Food Bank holds an annual Walk Against Hunger. On Sunday, April 29, 2007, they will hold a walk in Waterbury.

Check out Michael Oren's speeches on Arab Antisemitism: Indigenous Phenomenon or Foreign Import? and The Seventh Arab-Israeli War, the former given as part of ISGAP's seminar series on Antisemitism in Comparitive Perspective and the latter sponsored by New Haven's Israel Task Force. The seminar meets Thursday afternoons at Yale in New Haven.
The genocide taking place in Darfur is considered the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today. The Jewish community in the Greater Waterbury area, along with the Greater Waterbury NAACP, the Anti-Defamation League and, most importantly, the Save Darfur Coalition have been working to educate the community, raise awareness and help to stop the genocide.
The Connecticut Coalition to Save Darfur has been formed to raise awareness and encourage our government to take effective action. The next event it is working on is the Voices to Stop the Genocide rally and concert in Central Park Sunday, September 17, 2006.
CAMERA, the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting, is promoting an Adopt a Library initiative. The purpose is to help area libraries provide appropriate and balanced materials concerning the Arab-Israeli conflict. The Jewish community in the Greater Waterbury community is participating.
