To the editor:

Reading David Sanger's analysis, "Sudden strike is the riskiest U.S. move in the Middle East since 2003," I was struck by his quoting of Bruce Riedel: "This administration is taking America into another war."

Iran has been waging war against us, against our will, using various means, for decades. It may temporarily get hotter - or, alternatively, hopefully, cool down - now that we've finally, belatedly, struck back. One can debate the wisdom of the action taken, but it certainly can't take us into a war we're already part of.

Sincerely,

Alan Stein
