To the editor:

The op-ed by Carl Levin and Angus King, "Don't Undermine the Iran Deal," is the political counterpart of the Computer Science truism "garbage in, garbage out."

Without mentioning it by name, they argue against the Nuclear Weapon Free Iran Act. The crux of their argument is the assertion "legislation to impose additional sanctions by the United States could be interpreted by our partners as undermining the negotiations."

The legislation would only entail imposition of additional sanctions if the negotiations fail.

One is left wondering why they are really against legislation which calls for following precisely the strategy which they say they favor.

Sincerely,
Alan Stein

The Comedian: United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

Speaking to a reporter at the United Nations headquarters, Ban Ki-moon, apparently with a straight face, said: "I don't think there is discrimination against Israel at the United Nations."
