To the editor:

The article "A Muslim-American Activist’s Speech Raises Ire Even Before It’s Delivered" sidesteps the real issue involved. It's not a matter of free speech. Even someone like Linda Sarsour, accurately described by Milo Yiannopoulos as a "terrorist-embracing, Jew-hating, ticking time bomb," has the right to be heard.

The issue is that, by inviting her as a commencement speaker, CUNY effectively gave its seal of approval to her anti-Semitism and support of terrorism.

As a formerly proud CUNY alumnus, I'm appalled.
