Re "Palestinian Business Leaders Reject Trump's Economic Overture:"
On the one hand, Palestinian Authority officials appear outraged that they weren't invited to the economic workshop in Bahrain, whose main purpose is to improve the lives of their people. On the other hand, they've refused to speak with American government officials, outraged that the current administration stopped pretending Jerusalem wasn't Israel's capital.
They refuse to be "bribed" by offers of assistance when "the possibility of an end to the conflict seems years away" ... because they refuse to negotiate with Israel.
The situation of the Palestinian Arabs is indeed miserable, but that misery is self-inflicted and perpetuated.
Sincerely,
Alan Stein
