Dear Editor:
In his guest essay, "Bernie Sanders: The U.S. Must Stop Being an Apologist for the Netanyahu Government," the independent socialist from Vermont makes it clear he's tired of people saying "Israel has the right to defend itself." So am I. Saying that is trite. It's meaningless.
Israel has more than the right to defend itself. It has the obligation to defend itself and its citizens, especially at times like this when they're being bombarded by rockets launched by Palestinian Arab terrorists.
I disagree with almost every other (misguided) thought in his essay, including his rhetorical question "And why do we seem to take notice of the violence in Israel and Palestine only when rockets are falling on Israel?"
Actually, hardly anybody notices when rockets are falling on Israel; they only wake up and notice when Israel reacts and defends itself against those rockets.
Bernie, you need to stop being an apologist for Hamas and other Palestinian Arab terrorists.
