Dear Editor:

The subhead of the article "Dreams in the Rubble: An Israeli Airstrike and the 22 Lives Lost" refers to "the bombing of a Gaza apartment building." However, careful reading of the article itself indicates there was no such bombing; rather, the "Abul Ouf Building" collapsed because the bombing of Hamas terror tunnels undermined its foundation.

The real lesson, which the distortions in the article appear designed to obscure, is that when terrorist groups operate from residential areas, civilians are inevitably going to suffer no matter how carefully the targets of the terrorists defend themselves.

A secondary lesson is that when those terrorists are targeting Israelis, any of that unavoidable harm suffered by the civilians those terrorists are using as human shields will be unfairly blamed on Israel.

Sincerely,

Alan Stein

The Comedian: United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

Speaking to a reporter at the United Nations headquarters, Ban Ki-moon, apparently with a straight face, said: "I don't think there is discrimination against Israel at the United Nations."
