Dear Editor:

In his guest essay "Biden Could Make the World Safer, but He’s Too Afraid of the Politics," Peter Beinart argues that President Biden shouldn't let Iran's insistence on removing the designation of its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization prevent the signing what would reportedly be a shorter and weaker reincarnation of the fatally flawed nuclear deal negotiated by the Obama Administration. He argues that the designation, "as a practical manner," doesn't matter.

That's obviously false, since if it didn't matter, the leaders of the Islamic Republic certainly wouldn't let it stand in the way of the new deal.

The rest of Beinart's arguments are similarly illogical and misguided.

Sincerely,

Alan Stein

The Comedian: United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

Speaking to a reporter at the United Nations headquarters, Ban Ki-moon, apparently with a straight face, said: "I don't think there is discrimination against Israel at the United Nations."
