Dear Editor:

It was almost amusing to read Raja Abdulrahim reveal the other side of the coin of the Palestinian Arab campaign to erase the deep religious and historical connection of the Jewish people to the Jewish homeland. In her article, The Threads of Identity in a Palestinian Craft, she writes about thobes combining "to create a historical Palestinian identity."

This is a neat trick, given the Palestinian identity is hardly historical.

Arabs only started arriving in the area centuries after the Romans renamed it "Syria Palaestina," which they did after it had been the Jewish homeland for millennia. Most Arabs now living there are from families which arrived far more recently and they only conjured up their new identity of "Palestinian" a few decades ago as part of their genocidal campaign to destroy the third Jewish Commonwealth, modern Israel.

How sad it is to see The New York Times being used for the propagation of lies.

Sincerely,

Alan Stein

The Comedian: United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

Speaking to a reporter at the United Nations headquarters, Ban Ki-moon, apparently with a straight face, said: "I don't think there is discrimination against Israel at the United Nations."
